Family trip to Southern Africa Dec 2020
Was hoping to get some feedback on this Botswana itinerary. It’s a family trip with our 18 and 21 year sons. Unfortunately, We are limited on time and this is as long as we can stay.
Wondering if we should try to add Vic Falls (we have all been to Igazu) or cut something in Botswana and try to see some of Kruger before heading back home. This is a Christmas break trip.
Arrive day 1- Johannesburg and transfer to African Rock Hotel - https://www.africanrockhotels.com/.
Days 2-4 – Fly to Maun and stay at Leroo La Tau -https://desertdelta.com/camps/leroo-la-tau/.
DEC 5-6– Fly to Camp Okavango - https://desertdelta.com/camps/camp-okavango/.
DEC 7-8 – Fly to Camp Xakanaxa - https://desertdelta.com/camps/camp-xakanaxa/.
Days 9-11 – Fly to Kasane and transfer to Chobe Game Lodge - https://www.chobegamelodge.com/.
Day 12 – Fly to Johannesburg and connect with international flight home
thanks!!

Chobe is wonderful! Our guide estimated we saw about 1,000 elephants from the river and on land during a day trip from Vic Falls, and I believe him. From Chobe, Vic Falls isn't very far, so it might be worth a diversion. In December, at the end of the dry season, water flow over the falls may not be very impressive.
