Ethiopian Airlines

Has anyone ever flown this airline? My friends and I may book it for a flight between Nairobi and Cairo. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I did some research on this airline because I was going to fly them from D.C. to Rwanda. Safety wise they are fine. The US FAA gives them a fine rating and the ICAO just audited them. The are also assisting other African airlines in getting up to standard. I would not hesitate to fly on them for safety concerns. However, I have heard that they are not always ontime, which is why I didn't fly with them (my connections were too close together). But if the timing of your flights is ok, than I would definitely fly on them.

Hi producerkoof
i've flown ET a few times.
Mind u the Nairobi-Addis section is ALWAYS OVERBOOKED!!! (that's how i was upgraded to business 3 times)
Even if u r holding the boarding card for the next flight, always report at the desk & make sure they know u showed up... If u r a bit late at the gate somebody has already taken your seat ...
It IS an african company, though they have rather new planes. u'll be probably flying Boeing 737 / 757.
i don't think u need a report on the food ...
Check how long u r gonna spend in Addis, i've had 6 hour connection in this terminal! over 6 hours & u can tour Addis.
Shouldn't question their security measures. My guess is they compete with SAA on THE African carrier

We flew them last Aug. and had a bad experience. You could do a search and pull my thread but bottom line is I will never fly them again from U.S. to Africa.
