Hello Shari,
I guess there are many that can give you better advice, but perhaps you could try Arusha Coffee Lodge in Arusha? Otherwise there are hotels in Machame and Marangu that are close to Kili, but I do not know what standard they are.
I would opt for the newly opened Kigongoni lodge in Arusha. Looks very nice, perhaps not really luxurious but an exclusive african style.
Good luck !

When we went to east Africa in 2002, we had heard the best views of Kili are from Kenya, not Tanzania, at Tortilis Camp in Amboseli (http://www.tortilis.com/). The camp was as good as it gets in Kenya and the views were stunning when there were no clouds (see pics taken at Tortilis at http://www.pbase.com/deseml/image/7759155 and http://www.pbase.com/image/11874673). We were lucky because I understand clouds cover Kili quite frequently.

Shari-
The views of Kili from Kenya are exceptional. Check for camps in the Chuylu Hills area, Tsavo and in Amboseli.
I've got great photos of Kili from the Chuylu Hills area when I stayed at Campi Ya Kanzi.
In Tsavo (west), Finch Hattons camp is quite lovely.
And in Amboseli, Cottar's camp and Tortilis, which was already named, are two very nice camps.
