Egyptian Museum

We are going to Egypt in two weeks and will
visit the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. Is it
worth the extra fee (E. 50 lb) to see the
Royal Mummies room

Yes, for two reasons:

1) it's amazing and it's only about
2) it's one of two rooms (the other being the Tut Exhibit) that is air conditioned in the public areas of the museum.

But there is no picture taking and no talking - looking only. There are about 12 mummies in the room. Ramses II, The Great is one of them and is always on display. Though they do periodically swap out some mummies for others, as they have lots down in the basement cooling room.

Most everything is rather inexpensive in Egypt, so if you have to pay a bit more for something, it's worth it!
