Egypt weather in December?

We are planning a 10 day trip to Egypt in the heart of Xmas/New Years season and I am wondering what temperatures would be like and what I should carry? Is the Red Sea "snorkable" or is the water too cold then..

I am not sure where you are from... since your tolerance to water temperature (for Red Sea swimmig) may depend on that.... in Hurghada it is windier and colder than the sea in Sharm El Sheikh... as an Egyptian I did swim in December in Sharm El Sheikh

Nights in Cairo, upper Egypt or the Red Sea are cold so bring a heavy jacket.. for the daytime have layered clothing since it could be sunny and warm enough for you to only wear a shirt and it may be a bit chilly requiring a pullover / windbreaker ontop.

Avg. High mid 60s F
Avg. Low low 50s F

Avg. Low upper 40s F
