Egypt - Travel Guide Book

OK, I know this is a Fodor's message board, BUT does anyone have a recommended travel guide book. I know everyone has their own preferences, like when in Europe I love Rick Steves and in Hawaii the Hawaii Revealed books. I use Fordor's and others as well, but wanted to know if there was a "favorite" out there.

Thanks!

Tracy

I usually look at Fodors, Lonely Planet, and Rough Guides. Each of these books have their own interesting tidbits. I leaf through them and write down what I needed in my notebook. I'd also liked the Footprint Egypt Handbook.

My favorites are the DK Eyewittness books. Good information and the best pictures and diagrams of any book I think.
I have a special fondness for Fodors books too though. ;)

At the moment my favourite Egypt guide book is from Eyewitness Travel "Top 10 Cairo & The Nile"

I have been using the Footprint and Rough Guides books for my upcoming trip in November. I like the background that Footprint gives you, and RG's layout over some of the others. I'm typically an independent traveler, or at least one that breaks out of the tours for some alone time with me and wherever I am, so these two come in handy with suggestions of other things to do.
