Egypt Tour Operators

We already posted this message, but made a mistake on the message title. So excuse me for being repetitive.

Message: We are in the process of choosing a tour operator for a trip to Egypt. We are in our forties, and want to be sure that we end up on a tour with people around the same age. We have had the experience on other trips of finding ourselves in groups that were skewed more toward older folk and retirees. We're more comfortable with a younger crowd.

So far, we are looking at Globus, Travcoa and Gate 1. Any opinions would be appreciated.

JB,
My husband & I went with Globus in April, 1999 and thought it was an excellent tour. Many organized tours attract a retired crowd because of how much easier it is. Our group spanned from 16 to 75+, with the average age about 50 (we're 44 and 52). We had a teenager with grandma, a late-20's honeymooner couple, dad and son, and some men & women traveling alone. It was mostly couples in their 40's and 50's.

We've only taken two organized tours (Egypt and China), but found some people on both that were about our age. We're active (hiking, tennis, etc.) so we had the same concerns.

There were some retired aged people. We learned about their previous trips, which may be valuable for trips for ourselves.

In summary, I think you'll find all ages. Have a great trip! Egypt is one of our favorites!

Hi,

I also went with Globus in 1995 and there was a really good mix of ages. There was a fair number of older people, but also a lot of 40's and some 20's and 30's.

As a single traveler of plus 60 I went alone to Egypt and found myself with mostly couples in their forties and fifties, which was fine with me. There were some thirties single women along. I went with Gate 1 and could not have found them better to deal with. They certainly made my trip fabulous, their people in Egypt were knowledgeable, accomodating, and, above all, VERY on the ball with their arrangements. I was never at a loss trying to figure things out. This was not the experience of others I ran into along the way. Good luck!
