Egypt Multiple entry Visa Question
 

I have read many comments here about the ease of getting your visa at the airport in Cairo on arrival. Are there any complications to get a multiple entry visa in the same way. We will be going to Jordan for a week a couple of days after our arrival and then returning to Egypt over land. Thanks fro your help

It doesn't have to be a "multiple entry" Visa. The Visa you get on arrival - stop at Visa desk before getting on line for Immigration - is good for at least a month if not longer. So you can go to Jordan and return to CAI for homebound flight.

Sandi, that is NOT right. You can have the 30 day visa, but that does not allow them to come and go as they please. Every time they come, leave, and come back to Egypt they have to renew the visa as if they never had one.

I am almost certain that multiple entry visas are not available at the airport. You have to go down to the Mughama and spend 1/2 a day at minimum getting the multiple entry visa put in your passport. Probably not worth it for a mear $15. The Mughama is a miserable place to go IF you know your way around it. It it s bloody nightmare if you don't know your way around it.
My advise is to pay the additional $15 on the second entry and let it go. The savings won't be but a couple of dollars as you do have to pay for a multiple entry and I don't think it is much less than $15. Mulitple entry visas are really best for expats that are coming and going more than once in a 6 month period.

Debbie; is it as easy to get an entry visa at a land crossing as it is at the airport? We will be with a group coming back into Egypt after Jordan?

Thanks Debbie - seems it's changed since our visit as we entered Egypt twice and breezed thru Immigration with no mention of a second.

Certainly the way you explain a multiple entry, for the small fee it would certainly make sense to just pay another $15.

geosand - I'm not going to say it is "as easy" as I don't know. It HAS to be possible to do, but easy, coming from Israel? I doubt it. You might want to do the water crossing instead directly from Jordan - if that is possible. I bet they'd be more welcoming from that one than from any land crossing boardering with Israel.

I made the assumption you meant Taba since you said "land crossing"....
