Egypt-Israel flight
I am trying to fly from Cairo to Tel Aviv in the spring. I was told that Air Egypt's Air Sinai carrier does this trip 3 times a week, but I recent heard that the airline has now cancelled this service indefinitely. The airline only tells me that my dates are full. Has anyone heard of this cancellation of service?

Check El Al service (or maybe a smaller Israeli service). Last I knew, they also fly a few days a week, alternating days with the Egyptian carrier. If they fly into Cairo, they're got to return to TLV.

Thank you Sandi.
I know El AL does fly twice a week, but not the dates I need. I guess I will wait a few days and see if the carrier has any more news. If anyone else knows anything, please let me know. |
Checking via itasoftware.com, we could find no non-stops. Royal Jordanian was a fraction of the price of any of the others with one stop, a plane change in Amman. For little more money, you could book a stay in Jordan and see another country, if yo have time to do that.

Thanx for the suggestion
Jack and Ann (and the web site which I was unaware of). We had actually considered Jordan and our back up plan (if Cairo isn't possible) is to fly to Eilat and then visit Petra. As with most travellers, I am probably trying to do too much with to little time, but it certainly is fun considering all of our options! |
hat,
One of the features that we like about itasoftware is is it's ability to process multi-segment or open jaw trips. Jack and Ann |
Very useful site. I have already added it to my travel stuff.
Thank you for all of the replies. |
An update If anyone is interested. I understand that Air Sinai was cancelled but is now up and running again between Tel Aviv and Cairo. I have been told that this service is not always reliable and sudden cancellations do occure, so we have decided not to book with them.

Are there any more comments about Air Sinai? Is this route still running? Booking doesn't seem possible online. Thanks.
El Al seems to fly TLV-CAI on Thursdays and Sundays. |
