Egypt in July

We're a family of 4 travelling to Cairo/ Egypt in June/July, independently.
We come from a very warm area in Australia and hope the heat will not affect us severely.
Any tips on budget family accommodation and travel to Luxor/Alexandraia would be appreciated.

the heat in egypt in june/july is around 35-42c in cairo, for laexandria irt is a bit lowere and luxor a bit higher. i would not advise you to go to laex in summer for it is really damp and crowded. i woulfd go to hurghada or sharm where i can enjoy the beaches. on average for a nice hotel in alexandria in summer (peak season) 200-300 LE/night double room. for luxor 150LE/night or may be less.
