Egypt and Israel in March

I have many questions - what are the weather, mosquitoes, and sandstorms like at this time of the year? Will the Nile be at proper water levels for the cruise? Also what is the best way to get to Petra from Cairo? We will extend our time but will need to travel round trip since we have to fly out of Cairo for the return home. Any help with these questions will be appreciated.

We have been to Egypt (Nile cruise) in March 97 and to Eilat, Israel in March 96.
The weather was great: warm upto hot (in the Valley of the Kings for instance) during the day ; cool at night.
We have seen no mosquitos at all.
We have had no sandstorms in March in Egypt, but we had them this year in May when we were at the Red Sea. Unpleasant experience.
Cannot advise you re your other questions.
