egypt air?
 

Have been told that i am travelling egypt air. is this a good thing? or if not, how not good is it?

Frankly, neither good nor bad. I've flown Egypt Air, and it's certainly as good as any U.S.-based airline in coach. Edible food, etc. I can't speak to biz class, though.

We flew Egypt air from JFK to Cairo and found the experience to be passable at best. There were numerous occasions where people would smoke in the bathrooms and the crew did nothing about it. I began to think that the smokers were the crew.The smoke detectors were defeated by holding a roll of toilet paper to the detector as sort of a filter.By the time we got to Cairo the plane was a mess with the bathrooms filthy and no inflight sprucing up.That being said, the food was passable however no wine of beer is served.Contrary to this, the in country flights were very good.

Don't know anything about the overseas flights on EgyptAir, but we flew EgyptAir domestically in Egypt and the plane was new and much nicer than the Alitalia I flew from Cairo to Rome (which looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in 10 years).

Hi... in regards to safety, I had a look at a few official websites, including this one and compared to other airlines not many safety issues arose.

Used them to fly coach from Egypt to Kenya and was miserable. I'm only 5'11" and my knees were pressed up against the back seat in front of me... of course with the two fattest people in those seats. The food was blah.... the plane internal temp. was at least 90 degrees farenheit.... I was sooo dehydrated after that flight.

However, they were the cheapest and servicable when I flew domestically in Egypt.... If you're from the states, think of them as comparable with Southwest

I consider Southwest one our better domestic airlines.

Are you using them from the states or just within Egypt? Delta flies nonstop from JFK to Cairo and also to Amman.

I am using them to fly from JFK., and later to elswhere in egypt. If no liquor is served, do you suppose I would be thrown out of the plane mid-air if I consumed one of my little bottles in flight. I take little bottles when I travel because once consumed you throw the bottles away, thereby making your load lighter, and becuse liquor overseas is very pricey, and also one never knows when the pause that refreshes might come along.

Just returned from Egypt with OAT - JFK to Cairo and back were plesant trips, no smoking problem and the food was good, not great but what you expect these days. Flight to Amman and within Egypt all on time and very plesant. No luggage problems but be sure to give yourself three hours or so at JFK On trip to Cairo they use a plane with 3-4-2 seating (in coach) so call about ten days before departure to get the seat assignment you prefer. Bring reading material for the trip and good ear phonrs if you want to watch the movies (Adam was one on return flight that I actually planned to see)

You know, Judo, it's actually against FAA regulations to carry liquor for consumption aboard an aircraft, though I don't know if the TSA would confiscate your bottles or not, since they are under 3oz.

I confess I could be mis-remembering, but I remember getting wine with dinner, for free. But not alcoholic drinks.

please advise in regards to worthit to upgrade on flights from JFK to Cairo: to business class.

Just back last night from my trip to Egypt and Jordan. Egypt air was used from Cairo to Aswan;then Aswan to Abu Simbel and back to Aswan and then from Luxor to Cairo. As someone who flies for a major US carrier I was appalled how lazy the flight attendants were for this airline. They served one water or juice on over hour flights and were never seen again.They did not walk through the cabins during final for pickup of items or checking seatbacks/carryons out either. The bathrooms were very dirty on all of the flights which I was surprised as Cairo is their main hub?
Royal Jordanian was a delight-fabulous service with a meal and wonderful atmosphere.
