Wild dogs in Lake Nakuru!

I have finally managed to get a profile on fodors after been reading the post for over 2 years now.
I have noticed that quite a few people have a thing for wild dogs.I have read the topics about wild dogs in Serengeti and Masai Mara.
I have only seen wild dogs once and it was in 2003 and only saw 2 for around 5 minutes, but it was awesome....
In 2004 my friend visited Lake nakuru and he saw 2 wild dogs there. I wouldn´t believe it, but he had a video recording of it. They were just running along the lake. He even mangaged to get a shot with the dogs and white rhinos.
But I was wondering if anyone have seen them there since?

PS; Sorry for some of the spelling, but english is only my second language (Im am danish)

Velkommen jesron !

UNBELIEVABLE !!

In Nakuru ? - a fenced-all-over park ??
if they've found a hole, let's hope it isn't big enough for Rhinos...

On the other hand, maybe they've been INTRODUED ?
not only Rhinos & Rothschilds' Giraffes
r introduced, but Lions as well...

the closest place i've heard of wild-dogs sightings are Naivasha (Hell's Gate)

aby

PS where have you seen them ?

¿Qué? I’ve read about wild dogs in Lake Nakuru, but I thought that was a looong time ago. We definitely need to see your friend's video. Lake Nakuru NP is fenced, but a fence expert told me that that it’s a very permeable fence.

BTW, karibu Jesron! Where did you see dogs?

Thanks for the nice replies...I forgot to write where I saw ther dogs, but it was in Ruaha not far from the Old Mdonya River camp. They were just standing on the road in front of us. The guide and the manager of the lodge(great man by the way) were just so excited and me too. It was one of the few animals I had missed. At that time they had only seen them 4-5 times that year, but the lodge was just opened at the time. Since then the manager have told me that a big pack of dogs use the area around Old Mdonya quite often. You could check their website www.adventurecamps.co.tz out for more details.
I hope it is allowed to bring their website. I seen that quite a few replies got removed over the last couple of months

Yeah, they can sneak into a fenced-in park. Last year, i remember reading reports of a couple of sightings at Phinda. They may have come in from Umfolozi.

Saw one in Lake Nakuru N.P. just last month Nov, 2006. The guide was just as excited as us; they're rarely seen.

Banares!
Karibu nyumbani. Why didn’t you tell us immediately? Do you have photos? Will you write a report?

Some of the Lake Nakuru lodge promotions advertise wild dog sightings...not that you can always believe promos.
