Earthwatch Expeditions

Has anyone ever done any of the Earthwatch Expeditions? Any info or comments would be helpful.

My son is signed up to do one in Inner Mongolia in October. They've been very responsive to my emails.

My 18 year old son returned from an expedition, Mongolia's Lost Water last month and said it was incredible. I doubt I can get him to post a trip report, but as a protective mother, I can say they answered all my concerns quickly. He wants to do another one next year.

Well I went on an earthwatch trip many years ago(Scuba diving trip maui). My sister worked for earthwatch for five years. Its a great company. If the scientist is good(most are) the trip will be great

Bscales,

I've done 12 Earthwatch trips. It's the BEST way to travel as far as I'm concerned. You meet people from around the world and feel like you are contributing to making the earth a better place for all of us -- including non-human animals.

Just returned to Zambia to visit a school that was part of a 1999 Earthwatch survey of the vegetation of Kafue National Park. Have done trips in Brazil, HongKong, Tonga, Fiji, Brunei, etc. Ongoing research trips tend to be more organized, but sometimes the surprises of a new research study can be the most fascinating. Once you choose a trip ask Earthwatch for names of previous volunteers on that trip for the best info.
