We're doing the same to visit family at Christmastime. In beginning my research, I've found this website with info on the beaches and play areas for children: http://www.Dubaicityguide.com/general/beaches.htm. The homepage provides some other sources to check. If I come up with other things, I'll keep posting here. Would appreciate your doing same. We have four-year-old niece to keep busy!

Hi there, in response to your question I would say yes Dubai is a good place for children. Myself and my family were there for 9 weeks in summer 1998 and again for 3 weeks in easter 1999. Lovely place, very safe, lots to do.

Family life for the Emarati people is very important and as a result they have done so much for the children. Each mall has at least one play area for children if not more. We also have many parks and 2 water resorts that your children would love. You can take your children wadi bashing in the desert for a new experience for them. As you might know dubai is on the persian gulf so we have beautiful beaches that I am sure your children would love. If they like animels you can take them to the zoo or take a 2 hour boat ride to see dolphins.
