Cool! Thanks for posting, that was interesting to read - couldn't help but think as I was reading it that theses lioness saw the famous video where the lions lost the buffalo because of the crocs - probably paying them back... :-)

PB thanks for this. I saw a dead crocodile presumably killed by lions in Ruaha with a lion guarding the carcass. Similar situation, the guide thought the croc had come to scavenge from a buffalo carcass and been killed by the male, or more likely several lions.

There was some doubt as to whether lions would kill a croc, so its good to know they do given the right circumstances.

Lynda: that's funny about the payback.

Pol: great photos and interesting that you saw the end result of a lion croc kill. At Kwara camp I saw sign of a different situation. We found blood and stench of a kill with lion tracks. Then we followed croc tracks with a drag mark for about a mile back to a waterhole so apparently the croc made off with a lion kill.

Seems some of the guests in the other vehicle were not sure that the croc was killed... maybe they did not care to watch...
