Snorkeling - Eilat, Israel, Aqaba or Tala Bay, Jordan

Planning a visit to both Jordan and Israel and would like to do a bit of snorkeling. Are the waters clearer and the areas not as crowded in Jordan? Are hotel rates more expensive in Israel? Travel books seem to say that Eilat is a spring break type of city. In that part of the world where might be the best place to spend a few days to enjoy the water, see the coral and fish and hopefully get a few good photos. Thanks

Hi, I would also be interested in a response to this question and would throw in whether anyone could tell me which of Eilat and Aqaba has the best nightlife in April? Thanks.

I snorkeled last Oct. in Aqaba, just from the beach, and took a glass bottomed boat to go further out, but was not impressed with the reef/fish and think it's dying off there possibly. There is a lot of industry in Aqaba and the beach was not really clean so maybe the snorkeling would be better from another spot. It was quite disappointing actually as I was expecting the Red Sea to be spectacular.
