Drakensberg or Mpumalanga - where to spend more time?

We are planning to trip to South Africa in November and have almost finalised our itinerary. As it stands we have 4 full days in both the Drakensburg and the Mpumalanga regions, however we would like to add in another day in the Battlefields area which means we would have to drop one night in one of the other two. It's a really tough call, especially given that we like hiking, scenery, wildlife and history! However, if you had to pick one of the above for 3 days instead of 4, which would you suggest? Many thanks in advance for any advice!

We spent four nights in the Drakensberg and wished we had longer - beautiful scenery with some spectacular hikes. CR

Thanks CR - that's useful feedback. Having thought more about our itinerary we do think the extra night is best spent in Drakensberg so it's good to know someone else agrees! It looks stunning.

Thanks again.

Mpumalanga is also stunning. I would drop the battlefields and spend more days in either the Drakensberg or Mpumalanga. If doing the Drakensberg we liked the Mahai area in the Royal Natal National park
