Does anyone know about Dubai?

Myself and my girlfriend are planning to visit Dubai in August. We would have to spend most of our budget just getting there and we were wondering how much spending money we could survive on out there.
We would be there for two weeks, in a hotel with bed and breakfast, so it would only realy be one meal a day.
Also are there any strange customs we should know about before we go?
Thanks.

As your e-mail indicates u r from the uk, u will find everything much cheaper in dubai, then the uk. concerning meals it depends mostly on where r u buying from...if u r buying from a cafeteria or a small restraunt located outside shopping centres and hotels it will cost from 3-8 pounds..inside the malls the price rises abit to 8-12 pounds...and on the high end it is abit expensive 12 +.... these are all rough estimetes

u also have to remember that dubai is a muslim countty though it is filled with foriegner...and people there r very free..it would be better if u don't dress very skimpy..and cover up abit...it is even better for your so that u avoid sunburns ....
and being affectionate in public is to be avoided...

hope that helps

You are lucky to be visiting the treasure trove called ....Dubai! Part of the UAE, Dubai is the most cosmopolitan and tolerant of the Gulf'd cities. A muslim country but highly accomodating and liberal. Infrastructure is fantastic. So are the places, hotels, restaurants etc etc. Take care to dress modestly, leave the lovin' for the bedroom and get ready for a tan!

Lots of great luxury hotels - cheaper than Europe. For the budget conscious, go for an Aparment or 3 star hotel - plenty around. Transport within Dubai is cheap and easy.

Dont forget to visit the other Emirates;
Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain has much to offer.
