Do we need vaccination for Morocco?
I am leaving in 5-6 weeks for Morocco. I have read on CDC that some
vaccinations are recommended. I am wondering if the vaccinations are really necessary? I am a US resident. Thanks. |
If the CDC says so, I'd believe them. But I'd also visit a travel clinic, if you have one nearby, or your regular doctor if not.
Which ones did the CDC recommend? Lonely Planet says that WHO recommends diptheria, tetanus, measles, mumps, rubella, polio and hep B. |
Please see my response to your question about Tunisia, the same applies.
|
Thanks to both for the answers.
This is the link to CDC: http://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/morocco.aspx They recommend: Routine shots, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Typhoid and Rabies. I was not going to bother but I may get Hep A and Typhoid which can be transmitted through food or water. I will look for a travel clinic. |
I think that's a great plan, enjoy your trip.

Good plan, except I'd seriously consider Hep B s well. It's certainly not something you want to get, and wikipedia says: "However, at least 30% of reported hepatitis B among adults cannot be associated with an identifiable risk factor."
