Dinner in Nairobi
I'm an 18-year-old who will be traveling alone to Kenya this summer with Southern Cross Safaris. It will be my second trip; I went with my dad three years ago. On my last day I will be going to the afternoon visiting time for foster parents at the elephant orphanage and I'm trying to work out dinner plans between that and going to the airport. Any suggestions of a good mid-range restaurant for me to check in to?
Thanks, Mark |
What's your budget?
I would suggest you might enjoy "Rangers" at the main park gate complex. |
I thought Trattoria in Nairobi was quite good, they serve some nice pasta as well as other stuff.

Last July I had an excellent dinner at the Thai restaurant at the Stanley hotel; sorry I don't recall the name.

About 15 minutes from Daphne Sheldrink's, there is a shopping mall called the Junction. Fantastic Italian Rest. there call Mediterrano. Main course appox. US$13. Very good thin crust pizza US$8.
Also at the Junction is a Coffee House called Java, which does burgers, soups, sandwiches, etc., if you feel like a quick light meal. Next to the Panari Hotel on the main road to the airport is a micro brewery called Sierra. Very good bistro style food. US$10-15. At the Panari Hotel is a Brazilian Restaurant called Pampa. All you can eat meat and good salad bar. US$15. If you feel like going to a happening bar - in Westlands there is a bar called Gypsies. It is always busy, good crowd. Excellent food including grills, burgers, etc. |
