Dining during Shauvot

My upcoming trip to Israel co-insides with Shauvot.( as well as Ramadan) I am staying at the Eldan Hotel which is near the Jaffa Gate entrance to the Old City.
My hotel has contacted me to ask if I want to book any meals ( other than breakfast) during this period. It must be pre-booked.
I am wondering whether this service is an opportunity to experience something of the Jewish culture or whether it is just a service of convenience offered by the hotel.
I assume that while Jewish and Muslim restaurants etc may be closed, there will still be other restaurants/shops open.
Any advice from locals or regular visitors to Israel would be appreciated

Thanks
Liz

We dined during Pesach at wonderful restaurant near the Jaffa Gate called Dolphin Yam. It was one of the few restaurants open, and the others that were open were pretty empty
In any event, I would check with your hotel on any other places that might be open, because most of the city shuts down

Thanks Frank for the recommendation. I had a look at their website and it looks like it has a interesting range of choices.

My hotel is offering lunch and dinner for a fixed price of 60USD over the Friday night, Saturday and Sunday so I am assuming that it may be a set menu but is requiring advanced booking.

I was just wondering what my options were.

We normally stay in the American Colony part of East Jerusalem, where dining is far less than $60/pp. If you want to try something different at half the price, take a taxi over to Azzahra Restaurant. Yum, its so good and open 7 days a week because its part of a hotel

Thanks Frank. It's been 40 years since I have been to Israel so am looking forward to it.

Liz,
You will have such a great time. Israel has come long way in 40 years

There will be some restaurants open in West Jerusalem during the holiday, not many but the same as on Shabbat. $60 is expensive compared to the average Jerusalem restaurant. I don't know what the situation is during Ramadan in East Jerusalem, but I assume that restaurants in the Christian and Armenian Quarters of the Old City will be open as usual.

Thanks mbgg. I though $60US ( 80AUD) was expensive by comparison but if it was special would consider it. Along with Fank S suggestion, I will look into options in the Old City Christian and Armenian quarters.

Here is a list of recommended Jerusalem restaurants that are open on Saturday:
