Dead Sea day trip

Hello fellow travelers!
I am staying in Beersheva visiting and would like to take a day trip to the dead sea, since when i was last is Israel, I couldn't go in the water! I have a car. I've been to Masada, so i won't repeat that.

I'm kind of confused about my options, including beaches, facilities, and possible other things to fill in my day. I am not staying over night. I am not interested in a tour.

Ein Gedi? Ein Bokek? Any other ideas?

Thanks as always!

We visited Ein Geidi 2 years ago on the way to the Dead Sea resort we booked. We enjoyed - if you plan on visiting in the summer it is packed with teen tour groups that make it a little challenging to grab yourself some waterfall time.
Definitely wear some type of water sneaker and bring a towel.
I would have liked to spend more time at Ein Geidi - but we were driving from J'lem to Ein Bokek (stayed at Herods Dead Sea - loved the breakfast and dinner buffet.)

We took out dip in the Dead Sea at the hotel we stayed at - so I cant comment on that part. I do know there are public places to dip some are single sex and some are co-ed (I did visit a women's only area back in 2012 on a women's trip.)

The Ein Gedi beach is closed. You should go to the public beach at Ein Bokek.

Drive to the public beach at Ein Bokek- it should take about an hour. From there proceed north to Ein Gedi Nature Reserve - about 20 minutes. You need about 2 hrs to hike the circular trail to the main waterfall. From there you can proceed north to Qumran National Park - about 30 minutes. You can return to Beersheva the way you came or via Jerusalem - Highways 1,3 and 6 (free south of Hwy 7). Its better to go via J'm after dark.
