Day trips from Casablanca

Any suggestions on day trips from Casablanca? We'll be there on a cruise from 0900 until 11 pm and as Casablanca itself is not so interesting, would like to know our other options?

You could take the train (or bus) to Marrakesh (2-4 hours each way). It is as fascinating as Casablanca is drab. I was there a few years ago, and Marrakesh was the highlight of the trip. Fez is also nice but is way too far away for a day trip. Go to the souk (the marketplace) in Marrakesh and see snake charmers, vendors, and all sorts of other exotic things! Watch your wallet and allow plenty of time for the trains or bus to be late!

We took a day trip to Rabat to avoid the definitely dreary Casablanca. It was an easy train ride, and there was plenty to do and see. Not spectacular, but simple and much more interesting that Casablanca.

See the King Hassan Mosque in Casa Blanca and that's about it. If you can get to Marakesh then make the journey. It's quite fascinating and a real taste of Morocco. This is a wonderful country to visit and the medina is Marakesh is great.....
