Currency in Morroco

What is advisable re: currency in Morroco? Are Dirhams available for exchange in the airport? Is that the best place to exchange currency? Is it advisable to carry U.S. currency, Euros? Do smaller exchange outposts exchange Canadian dollars? Thanks!

You can exchage your currency once you arrive in Morocco (dirhams are not available outside of Morocco). Airport exchange desks will accept most major currencies (including Canadian dollars). Euros or USD are easily exchanged. Travellers cheques are viewed with suspicion, so dont try that! Most people just bring their normal bank cards and withdraw dirhams from the cash machines (they're everywhere)

I was in Morocco in 2004 and at that time the currency exchange rates were set by the government. Therefore it didn't matter where you exchanged, you got the exact same rate. I don't know if this has since changed or not.
