Crater - time restrictions - 2006

Just an update
Our quote has been adjusted for the increase in the Ngorongoro Crater vehicle charge but ATR says "They still have not confirmed whether it will be a 6 hr limit or indeed how they will do it"

A question: What time are you allowed to enter the park? What time must you leave the park? Thanks

I guess that's two questions...

You can't go down to the Crater floor before sunrise (about 6am) and have to be out of there by sunset (about 6pm).

From the information I have seen and has been issued (even reprinted here on this board) by the Tanzanian Tourist Authority, it's 6-hrs. And for every 6-hrs. the vehicle charge is $100.

We'll see what happend Jan 1, '06.

I've searched what I think is the site for the Tanzanian Tourist Authority, TATO and also http://www.tanzaniaparks.com and can't find the reference to 6 hours - could you please post the link.
