Cost of a gold carteuche/cartouche
I have a friend in Aswan who asked a jeweler how much it would cost for a gold carteuche with a four letter first name in English and the name in hieroglyphics on the back. He said it is 305 LE per gram available from 3 to 20 grams. Is that expensive? What is the average weight for a four letter carteuche in gold? What is the average cost of a gold carteuche? I was in Egypt in 2009 and I bought one that came with the chain. My house was burglarized, and the carteuche was stolen. My friend in Egypt is trying to help me buy another one.
