Congrats to Predator Biologist...

..on the very recent birth of his new little "male cub."

Now he has both a girl and a boy to follow in his paw prints his love of wildlife, nature and Africa.

PredatorBiologist Jun 11th, 2007 01:18 PM

Thanks one and all, Mrs. PB is doing well and our boy Leo weighed in at a little more than 8 pounds and is already showing the heart that you would expect from a boy named to honor the lion. Needless to say I'm very proud and appreciate all of your well wishes.

Leely Jun 11th, 2007 01:25 PM

Congratulations!

Favor Jun 11th, 2007 05:45 PM

Congrats! Great name too! ((y))

PredatorBiologist Jun 11th, 2007 08:46 PM

Well, since Lynda asked I have put up a few pictures here: http://www.kodakgallery.com/Slidesho...y41ld&Ux=1

Hopefully we will have another Africaphile and wildlife conservationist on our hands -- I'm certainly creating the environment for one. Thanks again for all the well wishes.

Carla: Exactly, this is a big reason why I upgraded from my two door to the new 4-door Calypso research vessel (why drive a mini-van when Jeep Wrangler now comes in a 4 door convertible!)

Thembi Jun 11th, 2007 10:36 PM

Kavey Jun 12th, 2007 12:47 AM

Lovely name, lovely baby boy!

Why does Mr PB look more exhausted than Mrs PB?! :D

Favor Jun 12th, 2007 05:16 AM

Hmm... Kavey you're right. Looking at the pictures one wonders who had the baby Ms. PB or Mr. PB???? Definitely Ms. PB looks to have a bit more spark in her!

Favor Jun 12th, 2007 05:18 AM

Opps - Sorry, it pays to read the captions!

thit_cho Jun 12th, 2007 05:33 AM

Congratulations. Does your choice of name have anything to do with the Latin name of the African lion, panthera leo?

napamatt Jun 12th, 2007 07:08 AM

Congrats PB. Let's hope he doesn't look like you when he grows up :D

cooncat2 Jun 12th, 2007 07:42 AM

Adorable. I, too, love the name!

Nyamera Jun 12th, 2007 09:34 AM

Congratulations to the whole pride. Karibu duniani, Leo.

sundowner Jun 12th, 2007 10:57 AM

A new cub - how exciting! Cute photo of Ashley and Leo (and PB, of course!).

Congrats!

PredatorBiologist Jun 12th, 2007 02:46 PM

Thanks all for the continued wonderful comments except for NapaMatt of course, who's sentiments I do happen to agree with:S-

For those commenting on my wear and tear vs. Mrs. PB, no photos of Mrs. PB included -- she is one of those sleek, rare felines who rarely appears in internet photos. The young lady in the pics is my precocious 12 year old Ashley who did not participate in this battle and thus looks wonderful vs. her weathered patriarch.

PredatorBiologist Jun 12th, 2007 02:51 PM

Meant to add that Leo is certainly short for Panthera leo and it is absolutely purposeful that my boy is named lion.

Kavey Jun 13th, 2007 02:00 AM

Aah, should have read the captions!
:D

bat Jun 13th, 2007 03:50 AM

Congrats to all of you--I agree with Imelda--Ashley looks like she will be a great big sister.

wildebeestus Jun 13th, 2007 05:47 AM

Congratulations to the PB Pride!! What an adorable cub, with a cozy den to start out his life of wonderful adventures! Deb
