Ciragan palace and other turkey info

I will be visiting Istanbul in June and would like to know if the Ciragan Palace is worth the price. We are debating between staying there, the Swissotel or some of the smaller, less expensive hotels in the Sultanhamet area...any thoughts on the above or on places to stay in Pammukale or Antalya would be much appreciated

We loved the Four Seasons, the location can't be beat to tour the sites in Sultanahmet.

Ciragan Palace is a fabulous hotel that has eevrything you want and then some! When we stayed there, Gorbachev was a guest. It's just very expensive so don't do your shopping or eating there.

It is a beautiful, old palace directly on the Dardanelles but a little out of the city. You wouldn't want to walk it many times a day!!! It may have been a poor time of the year, but when we were in Pammukale it was in a bad state - and we were told it gets worse each year. Antalya, on the south coast, is quite pleasant. We stayed at a resort hotel outside the city, on the coast, but next time I'll choose a place in town.
