No, we will just miss each other at the lodges. We are at Ol Seki on Dec 14 and 15 and at Rekero on Dec 18 and 19!

I trekked Gorillas in June and September. June weather was perfect in Volcans. In September we did have rain each day at Bwindi.

But I don't know about December! Sorry.

I'm sorry to miss you Eben, maybe leaving notes! Haha! However I will see Patty on the flight from AMS to NBO. What a nice coincidence! She has a gift for one of the guides, Ross at Samatian that I will bring for him.
I will report back on the weather in December for gorilla tracking. I'm expecting rain every day, so any sunshine will be a welcome surprise. Have a great time at Shompole, so far the most stunning camp I've seen anywhere in the world.

Ross and his wife, Caro, own and operate Samatian Island. I believe Ross is usually onsite hosting the camp. He personally took us out on our excursions last year. Sorry I hadn't made that clear. Looks like a lot of us will be leaving notes! See you in Amsterdam!

No, our filming is not wildlife-oriented - it is purely educational to help people plan safaris. IMO there is too much misinformation about East Africa mostly as a result of packaged tourism made popular in Kenya, and to a lesser degree in Tanzania but growing.

Maybe it is time to set the record straight? We hope to do so with our films.

Everything considered (cultural, diversity of wildlife, costs, travel times, landscapes, safety, etc) East Africa is magical and it deserves better representation than the usual from people on budget safaris and overpriced group tours.

We hope to show that East Africa safari magic is at the very least on par with Botswana, Zambia and my native South Africa.

In my experience it is better, but we have to proof it on film to counter a lot of unwarranted noise about crowded game parks, bad infrastructures, bad guiding and bad tourist hotel experiences.
