Chauvre Souris & Bird Island

We are planning a honeymoon to the Seychelles Sept 2000 - considering Chauvre Souris off of Praslin, and Bird Island Lodge - any opinions of these places? We want to fish quite a bit too - any other recommendations? Hoping to "attach" a trip to S.Africa or Tanzania too - would like to do some walking tours, rather than ride in a truck all day, and would like a tent camp - not too exclusive, but with good food, nice accomodations, good guides. Thanks!! <BR>Melissa

Chauvre Souris is magical; a tiny islet just off the coast at Cote d'Or on the opposite side of Praslin from the airport, it's posh, private, and Italian in style since it's Italian-owned. One can take daytrips easily to La Digue, see the Vallee du Mai,Anse Lazio. Though white fairy terns nest on the islet as they do on many parts of Praslin, neither Praslin nor CS,Curieuse or any of the other small islets come near the massive and in season, quite noisy bird population of BIRD ISLAND which is remote and isolated from the rest of the island group. Check out L'Archipel on Praslin as well.

Is this some kind of joke? The question was asked 15 months ago and regarded September 2000. Chauvre Souris is a tiny without any beach and only for people who are snobs.

Chauvre Souris is a 5 minute swim --at best-- from Cote d'Or beach opposite. Its "tinyness" is its attraction, regardless of the so-well- yclept "Joker" response dissing it as for snobs. Chacun a son gout, eh? It's a far better buy than Lemuria or Fregate ...

Thank you for posting a reply, even late- because it undoubtedly will help someone else. I am planning a trip to the Seychelles this year in late Oct. and would love some advice. Am looking at Lemuria and Denis Island Resort. Want something very relaxing with excellent food and great facilities. Please advise- many thanks.
