CCAfrica buys out 4 Sabi Sand lodges!!!
What a wonderful surprise I saw in my e-mail this morning!
CCAfrica has added not one, not two, not three, but FOUR new Sabi Sand lodges to its collection. From the e-mail I received: "CC Africa will be operating Exeter Private Game Reserve and Kirkman's Kamp, a total of four beautiful lodges in the Sabi Sand, situated on the western border of the Kruger National Park. Leadwood Lodge (4 suites), Dulini Safari Lodge (6 suites) and River Lodge (8 suites) are situated in the Exeter Private Game Reserve in the western sector of the Sabi Sand, with a traversing area of 10 000 hectares. Kirkman's Kamp (18 cottages), situated in the heart of the Sabi Sand, has a traversing area of 6 300 hectares. The expansion of 72 new CC Africa beds in a prime game-rich area will enable CC Africa to strengthen its commitment to our guests - offering the CC Africa safari in all of Africa's wildlife high spots. " Leadwood, Dulini and River are all very luxurious, while Kirkman's Camp will likely be their more moderately priced option. I am very, very excited about this news and may just have to pay a visit to a couple of these camps this October. |
Correction: CCA will be operating these four lodges, but the ownership remains the same. Same great result for visitors, however.

Rocco-
I got the email too. Go CCAfrica! Wasn't Kirkman's a part of Mala Mala at one time? |
Great news!!! Rocco, does this mean that CCAfrica has traversing rights shared between these lodges and Londolozi? If i opt to stay at either Londolozi or Exeter, can i have access to all the areas?
Thanks Hari |
Hello,
Oops -- scooped by Rocco! Kirkman's was once part of Mala Mala, and was sold to Exeter in 2003 or 2004. Kirkman's does retain traversing rights over a portion of Mala Mala's land. Londolozi is reverting to private hands in 2007, but CCA will run Londoz until then. Exeter and Londoz are not direct neighbours in the Sabi Sands, but Londoz does have traversing rights over the land adjoining Exeter (a privately held farm). Right now it's not clear whether that arrangement will expand to include Exeter. Cheers, Julian |
