Carry-on question
 

Would this be considered a lady's handbag / pocketbook / purse from a Virgin Atlantic's carry-on requirements standpoint? I would like to take it in addition to my camera daypack. The insert in my tickets says I can take a lady's handbag or pocketbook or purse free (would not be weighed) in addition to the free baggage allowance. Other allowable items include an overcoat, wrap or blanket, small camera and / or a pair of binoculars, a reasonable amount of reading matter for the flight, an umbrella or walking stick, infant's food, wheel chair, and crutches (provided the passenger is dependent upon them). Do you think there would be any issue with it being considered a purse (it would contain my purse type necessities, medications, items for the flight (mp3 player, ear plugs, eyeshade, reading materials, etc.)

Size seems very much a regular handbag size - largest dimension is only 15 inches - so I'd <i>imagine</i> it would be OK.

Oh, Magellan's also carries it. On that website, it shows a woman holding it (to see relative size) and also a view of the interior compartments (helpful). Does influence your opinion? Thanks!

Actually, on the woman, it does look kind of large... I think it would utterly depend on the check in staff's mood and/ or how full the flight was...

No experience with that particular one but will say that I am a big fan of the baggalini brand in general. DH &amp; I each have one of their shopping totes that folds up into a tiny little pouch. On the outbound we leave it folded up &amp; pack it in the pocket of our rollaboards. On the return, if we have done any shopping, we put our new items in the baggalini to carry onboard, and check our rollaboards. The baggalinis seem very well made and strong.

I fly Virgin regularly, and given some of the huge 'purses' they've let slide (a continual source of aggravation to many males who wish for another carry-on) you should be fine unless the plane is really full.

Since my windbreaker is black and the bag is black, I am confident that I can wear both and the bag will look rather discrete hanging on my shoulder against the jacket. So, I am going to give it a try. Thanks again.
