Thanks so've cemented it for me so I don't need to look back. Did you really think Robben Island was worth it? I read some negative report that they were stuck on the bus most of the time with a boring guide and couldn't really see much. Could have been one bad example though. Looking forward to your report.

BB: I have to whisper so not one else will hear: I have made two trips to Cape Town and never been to Robben Island.

I finished the Cape Town part of my report, but please ask any questions at all! Are you going to a safari camp as well?

I know what you mean....I feel like I could be shot for even suggesting that Robben isn't a must-see. Yes, we're going to Botswana in two camps...Vumbura Plains and Xigera Camp, as well as two nights at Vic Falls in Victoria Falls Safari Club....start off the trip with four nights on Mauritius.

I have T-giving company now, but just gave your amazing TR a quick read...I won't need to do any further research! I'll copy & print it all out. Love the fashion packing section! I'll skip the zip-offs (I didn't zip them off last time we went either) and just pack light pants and jeans (altho I hate to bring jeans because they're heavy & don't dry fast). I was also thinking of skipping my low hiking boots, since you just ride around in a jeep anyway.

Hello all
just found this blog - Ekscrunchy, sounds like you had a fab time in CT. There is however one very good restaurant you did miss!!!!

My partner and I eat at Overture on the Hidden Valley Wine Farm every 6 - 8 weeks. It has absolutely fantastic cuisine and the view, simply breathtaking. Chef Bertus Basson is very talented and we always leave this restaurant looking forward to our return visit.

If you come back, do not miss out on this treat. We live in Constantia and have a few nice local gems including the Greenhouse and TK. They are very nice.
Try Overture!
