Trip to Jordan - Stuck in snowstorm

I had visited Jordan two weeks back (yes, during the Alexa snowstorm). The two major places on our agenda were the Dead Sea and Petra.

We were able to visit Dead Sea and Mount Nebo on the first day. Floating in the Dead Sea is in particular an experience that should not be missed.

The next day, the effects of the storm started taking place - when we decided to go to Petra. We were not able to go around the entire area due to the weather - we were able to see the place only for a couple of hours.

It was then that the storm really hit the place. The rest of the days - which included an aborted trip to Jerash - were spent in Amman where we visited the King Hussain Mosque and the Roman Theater.

This gave us time to enjoy the numerous cafes and shisha bars that are present in the city - specificallly in the Downtown and the Paris square areas.

Overall, it was a great experience.

Who would have expected a snow storm in Jordan! Sorry you didn't get to spend longer in Petra, one of my favorite places.

Congratulations on making the best of the situation. I wonder how many people were camped out in Wadi Rum?

We knew it was winter but as you said, no snowstorm was expected by us.

@colduphere - Strangely, as this was not the tourist season, not too many people were stuck here.
