Cape Town metro--safe?

Have you taken the metro in Cape Town. Did you have any safety problems?

If you mean metro as in in subway then
Cape Town does not have a metro.

What more can I say other than 100% safe even though I have never taken it as yet. :)

I disagree Selwyn, no one has ever survived a trip so it's very dangerous. ;)

My husband and I met in Kenya three years ago and traveled down to Cape Town together. Cape Town was probably the safest city we were in the entire time we were in Africa. It's also the most "western" city. We were out after dark many times and were not hassled, even once. I can't say that about all of the cities in Africa we visited, but we had such a great time visiting Africa that we plan to go back again in the new year. Currently we are traveling through Thailand and loving it. Check out our Africa pictures at http://hobosinlovemedia.com Cheers!

Please give details of the metro in Cape Town.

The train is used by commuters to the townships. Its safe during the day but I wouldn't ride it at night.

Taxis are plentiful and cheap.
