Cape Town 3-star central hotel suggestion needed, also any Thai Restaurant there?

There seem to be a lot of good hotels in Cape Town, can someone make an easy suggestion for 3 star level close to the central business area suitable for people on business?
Also anyone with great local CPT knowldge can suggest best Thai restaurant there, guess there is one?

Victoria & Alfred Hotel on the Waterfront -- I don't know, maybe its 4 stars. Its a nice hotel, great location and reasonable rates, at least when I was there in 2002 (but the dollar was much stronger then).

If you want a nice hotel in the waterfront area, I can also recommend the Portswood. Very nice facility and the service was great.

I was there a couple of weeks ago. Stayed at the Sheraton which was phenominal. I did drop by the Holiday Inn on Strand St-right downtown. Very nice looking hotel. Used to be an Intercontinental. Also very reasonable rates. Location means that you are fine walking around in the day but not at night.
