Canary Islands to Morocco

We are planning to go to Spain in March, with a week in the Canary Islands. I was wondering if there is a ferry from one of the Islands to Essaouira, Morocco. We wanted to do a day or two in Morocco, but from other posts I've read, it wouldn't be worth the day trip to Tangier (from Algeciras). Everybody seems to agree that Fez or Marrakesh are better cities to visit. This being the case, I thought we may be able to travel from The Canary Islands via ferry to Essaouira then by train (maybe?) to Marrakesh. Is this feasible for a two day excursion or not worth it? Any info would be helpful. Thanks.
