Camping on El Karama Ranch ?
 

Rough Guide Kenya 8th mentions that camping is possible at El Karama Bandas. Anyone who can confirm this? Patty?

Sorry, I forgot to ask last time. On my 2005 visit, there were some recent guestbook entries from campers, but they've since gone a bit more upscale. "Upscale" being relative to before, i.e. matching glassware instead of mismatched ones ;) IIRC the camping wasn't done in the immediate area of the bandas. You might want to email Murray or JK Safaris and ask (they have some kind of partnership with JK as far as the banda operations go).

The accomodation info on the PDF looks more up to date than the other page but could use a little further clarification. The double bandas (which can sleep 3) and the family cottage have ensuite bathrooms and the rondavel has a detached bathroom. They also offer a full board option now as well.

Patty, the PDFs are all from last March. You can find them easily using Google. I just found some corrupt ones and will ask Phillipa tomorrow that she should re-load these.
