camping mattress

We are doing a basic camping safari in a few weeks, with a camping mattress and sleeping bags supplied by the company. Really curious as to how thick these mattress's are and if it would be worth the trouble to haul my blow up mattress over there with us?
I know makes you wonder why we are camping doesnt it????

Ask 'em! A lot of times in mobile safaris, the pad is only about 1.5" thick. Request two per person and see if that will help.

Why are you camping?

If you are thinking it might be necessary and it is not too big when deflated, I'd take the blow up mattress. You are unlikely to have to carry your luggage far, anyway.

It sounds like you already have a blow-up mattress, but there are some light-weight air mattresses on the market that are made for backpacking. The lightest ones are less than 2 lbs.
