Cairo in April and the Khamsin

Hi. I have a trip to Cairo booked for 2 weeks in April but have been told that the Khamsin wind makes it a bad time to be in the city. To what extent might this impact on my trip and does anyone have tips for coming prepared? Am determined it will not change my plans but want to make the best of whatever nature brings! Thanks.

Hello,

I haven't been to Egypt during the Kamsin, but according to those who have been the main effect is on transportation -- the timeliness of flights in particular can be quite severely affected.

Cheers,
Julian

While my experience is only one person one time - we visited Egypt mid-April 2001. No wind, snadstorms, tornados, or other weather events other than heat.
