Cab Ride from Jordan Border to Petra?

Are there any cabs/buses available to take me to Petra after crossing the border. If so, what do they cost and will they be difficult to find when i would like to return to the border at the end of the day?

Thanks.
Adam

Which border? Allenby Bridge or at Eilat/Aqaba?

If at the latter, your hotel can make arrangements for a group tour or a private tour.

Or check the Jordanian tourism website for more information. in addition, there are have been some recents threads about visits to Petra from either of these border crossings. Do a search in the box at the top of this board - enter "petra" (w/o the apostrophes) and threads should appear in the left column.

I will be crossing at the Eilat/Aqaba border. I will not be staying at a hotel in Eilat, so I am going to have to find my own means of transportation. I will check out the other threads though.

Thanks sandi.

You can always take a cab to Petra, there are no buses from the border to Petra. It is also easy to go to Amman and take a cab from Amman to Petra.

There is a fixed price for the airport cabs for different places around Jordan. But they are not available I guess on the Israeli/Jordanian borders.

A cab would probably cost you maximum 50$ to Petra

If you want a good taxi driver who can take you around with good prices, I have used this one before, hi: 962-79-5546172.. he is a nice guy and trustworthy.

Do check the link to jordan-jubilee that alanRow posted.

There are at least 3 buses daily from the Aqaba to Petra.

I thought you are crossing from one of the bridges.
