Bwana - Leaving soon?

Mitch - If I recall correctly, you, too, are leaving soon for Zambia, yes? Please remind us of your plans!

Have a nice trip, Mitch.
You taking the aardvark with you? :P

jasher Sep 1st, 2005 03:12 PM

Hi Mitch,

Can't wait to read your trip report -- I'm particularly curious abouy Shumba and the Busanga Trails 'circuit' in Kafue. I've heard that you can follow leopard on the hunt up there.

Cheers,
Julian

Kavey,

Actually it's not an aardvark - it's a small teddy bear. I plan to make some nice photos of him and wild animals for a future project targeting at small kids - "Teddy's Wild Adventures in Africa" or something like this.

Mitch

Julian,

Busanga Trails are not unknown to me, I've already been there three years ago - and I don't expect any changes. So if you have any specific questions, just ask.

Mitch

You deserve a few extra ((*)) ((*)) ((*)) for presentation! :D

Schöne ferien!

Leely Sep 1st, 2005 04:51 PM

It didn't work for me, dang it, something off with my computer. But I understand you're going to Zambia, so that's good.

I'm sure you'll have an amazing trip!

bwanamitch Sep 1st, 2005 04:59 PM

Leely,

I'm so sorry. Maybe you're using an old web browser?

Mitch

(Patty: do you now understand my comment about the 'unseen work'?)

climbhighsleeplow Sep 1st, 2005 05:06 PM

That's pretty cool Mitch! I wish DigitalGlobe would shoot more sat pics of Africa at basically city level so one can clearly see the waterholes, etc!

With Google one can see the deck chairs on our deck in the backyard here in Falls Church!

Leely, it's a bit slow at first so give it time to load.

Leely Sep 1st, 2005 05:06 PM

Well, I'm "working" at home today. You all can probably tell how much I've gotten done. I will look again from my office, where everything's more high tech.

85 hours and counting... :-D

bat Sep 15th, 2005 04:44 AM

Have a great trip. I was looking at your virtuelle safari map. Is the itinerary on there re when you will be at certain locations? If not, would you re-post it here so we can be at the correct camp at the correct time?
Thanks--nice to live vicariously through someone if I can't go myself.

bwanamitch Sep 15th, 2005 05:59 AM

bat,

if you zoom into the map and click on the camp ('C') and airport/airstrip ('A') markers you will find all the information: dates, flight numbers, websites of operators and airports...

Mitch

Bwana: Are you all packed and ready to go!!?? How exciting for you. Have a wonderful time on safari and remember to post a prompt trip report. I'm relying on you! ((@))

bat Sep 15th, 2005 06:25 AM

Hey Mitch: I had done that before and had checked out the camps, but I did not realize those were dates initially--I guess because of the reverse numbering system that we use in the U.S. [how do you do a "sheepish"/embarassed smiley?]

cooncat Sep 15th, 2005 06:31 AM

bat - check sundowners post in this very thread to see the smiley face codes! \:D/
