Buying Cartier in Dubai

I want to buy a Cartier watch when I'm in Dubai. Do you know if it's cheaper to buy one in the Cartier store or wait and get it in Duty Free on the way home?

I would suggest you price the Cartier watch, the particular model, at home. Then check the USGovt site re duty allowances. On items of certain value, you'll be liable for duty.

Then, if you find the same model when in Dubai, the price is markedly less, and already knowing what your duty liability will be when you arrive at home - decide. Sometimes it's just not worth it.

And I sure hope it's a "real Cartier" - purchased from their shop... not on a street corner! LOL!

Sure, you may get away with just wearing it, but if they catch you, isn't it a fine, the duty, and maybe you lose the thing?
