Atravelynn - we saw the porcupines at the Lodge, they get fed every night so they are quite prompt!!! We used CCAfrica for this trip again and had no complaints.
Our dates were from April 24th to May 9th, 2007. |
In short this was a wonderful trip. My preference is for Botswana. I love the wildness of it and the randomness of the animal sightings. It was much more peaceful and felt less like a zoo. The Kalahari was wonderful and I could easily go back tomorrow even if I was told I wouldn't see any animals.
I liked the lodges, both of them and they were far more relaxing than camping. However having said that the camping we did on both trips was great....no cooking, cleaning etc!! I liked camping better although at the end it was nice to go to a lodge. The animals in Sabi were wonderful and it was brillant to get so close to them. On one of the days we saw the Big Five in one drive. I think if I only had a few days, less than five, I would do Sabi again or if it was my first trip but for me its Botswana. Having said that I am already planning our next African trip for 2009 and it will include Namibia, Drakensburg and maybe a little scuba in Mozambique!! |
Ajy733,
Did you meet Craig at Dulini? (one of the managers there?) he was also our guide due to shortages and he did an amazing job ....... Great guy!!! Hari |
HariS - no not that I recall. We had Rex as a guide, and the two managers were Kelli and Simone. It seems that the staff move around between the Exeter Lodges and within CCAfrica

Thanks .... i remember Kellie from our visit. Very professional and friendly and she was just setting up the new CCA style giftshop at that time.
Cheers, Hari |
