Botswana safaris and weather

Has anyone been on safari in Botswana between September and March? My husband and I would prefer warmer temperatures, but weren't sure what month would be best for game viewing, or which would be worst for rain or insects.

Also, does anyone have any experience with mobile safaris where a support vehicle travels with you and sets up tents each night?
