Botswana/SA/Zim - Health/Shots-Preganancy

We are looking at a trip to Southern Africa, Botswana, SA, and Zimbabwe. However, we are also not preventing pregnancy so my question is this...
Are the hepatitis shots really necessary? I know that the CDC recommends, but they also recommend for the Middle East, and having lived here in the Middle East for a year it hasn't been an issue. (didn't even think about the shot question) The malaria pills are not an issue as we will know a week or so before we go if I am pregnant. I would appreciate any counsel on this issue.
