Border crossing (Bots-Zim-Zam)

which of the below route will take less time --- taking into account the border crossing time, ferry time, road driving time etc?

or will both journeys end up being the same ~1.5-2 hr?

(Option 1) Livingstone (Zam) -> VF (Zim) -> Kasane, via road transfer
(Option 2) Livingstone (Zam) -> Kasane, via Kazungula ferry

i should mention that it will be a private transfer, but for some reason I am being quoted higher for (Option 2). (Option 1) requires you to go through 3 different immigration, while (Option 2) requires you to use the ferry

also, does anyone know why transfers are quoted on a per person basis? wondering why bc it requires the same amount of fuel whether you transport 1 person or 4 persons...

looking forward to hearing experiences from past travelers.

Everything is quoted on a per person basis. It's just the way it is. Usually if you are in a group private transfer the price goes down. $200 for one, $100 (or a bit more) for two.... Don't forget to tip your driver.

You obviously didn't read my previous posts. Fly into Zim, stay Zim. That way you don't have to pay the extra expensive visas for Zam. I stayed on the Zim side and got the very easy road transfer directly to Kasane. How long? I have no idea. We made our flight after breakfast. We have not had trouble with border crossings and they only take a few minutes except for one. If you get flagged for whatever reason it can take forever to get through.

Why do you care which is faster? They do transfers all the time and will make sure transfers are done so you don't miss whatever you are trying to do. Ask the people making the quotes how long - they know as that's how they determine the cost. Africa time is different than US time. Don't try to fit too much into a short amount of time.
