Books to read

Anyone have any suggestions for books to read before we go? Adult through young teen. Also, what about a book for wildlife identification?

For easy identification and journalling,I would reccomend the Mark Nolting Safari Journal. The identification guide is quite easy to follow, and it has a spoor (tracks) id guide too. The journalling section is also handy for a written record of your trip (maybe for a school project too???-LOL) For more in depth behavioral information- Richard Estes Safari Companion is quite nice. The Estes book would more than likely be a bore for a young teen. Yoir guide will clue you in to some of the stuff in the Estes book, but I found it nice to have some ideas before departure.

All of the above, plus two favorites of mine:

West with the Night by Beryl Markham

African Game Trails by Theodore Roosevelt (imagine a time before ghost writers when Presidents of the Untired States were scholarly, engaging, articulate and supberb writers of English! Hard to imagine.)
