I second The Power of One; book is great, movie is awful.

One of my favorite books -- of any genre - of all time is "Dancing with the Witch Doctor: One Woman's Stories of Mystery and Adventure in Africa" by Kelly James -- true stories of a female private detective in Africa -- takes place in several countries, I think Mozambique is one of them.

Ok Diane...its added!! Goshes I hope I can read most of these.....I have 38 days before I leave. Half way thru "Into Africa" and just loving it. Its the best travel adventure book I have ever written. I'm going to get a copy for my son for Xmas.

But also Im finding it fun as I read it.....I've done the Nile, so that ties in, been to Zanzibar so have that history, then also read a lot about Burton and his Isabelle before I did this last trip to the mid east. Eventually I am finally finding all this stuff starts to tie together and its really a neat feeling when it does.

Whitefrog...what a surprise. I never come into this forum, but I'm halfway through your book and was curious to know if people were traveling to Zimbabwe. Then I saw this thread and was going to suggest Last Resort.

I am happy to hear that your parents are still alive and living in their home. I am loving your book so far. Setting politics aside, it sounds like a beautiful country.
